Get on the listStay connected, even when your phone isn’t. Find your friends, wherever they wander. Messages sent with no bars travel phone to phone through other people running Syncopation, or go when you find Wi-Fi. Share photos, videos, and optional location with trusted friends. The more friends who join, the more ways a message gets through.
How a message gets there
- QueuedJesse’s message, written at camp with no bars, gets queued to send as soon as it finds a way.
- CarriedLaura, another Syncopation user, walks by camp. It picks up Jesse’s message for Kat.
- RelayedKaitlin is at the bar near the stage. The message hops to her phone from Laura’s. Neither Kaitlin nor Laura can read it, because it’s an encrypted DM meant for Kat.
- DeliveredKat, all the way over at the main stage, gets the message from Jesse, even though no one has even one bar of service. Jesse gets a delivered notification the same way.
- Send from anywhereMichelle is admiring nature and taking some pictures nearby. Even though she’s out of range of any other Syncopation user, all of her DMs and public shout outs can be delivered once she passes by the others or manages to find an internet connection, whichever comes first. Her nature photos follow as soon as she finds Wi-Fi.

For when the bars run out
- CampersYour tent is two fields from theirs and the phone says no service. Send it anyway.
- Festival-goersThe group split up at the stage. Phones in the crowd running Syncopation pass the message along.
- HikersOut of range on the trail, the message waits on your phone and goes with the next phone you pass or the next bar of signal.
